What is the Rural Ottawa Wood Burning Changeout Program?
This program is for people living in rural Ottawa with older, inefficient wood-burning appliances. If you own a wood stove, wood-burning fireplace and/or wood-burning insert made before 1992, you may be eligible for the program. The Hearth, Patio and Barbecue Association of Canada is offering to offset the cost of a new appliance by 25%, up to $750, to make the switch easier on your wallet.

What’s the best way to clean my BBQ?
There are a variety of grill degreaser products on the market that can be used on a grill, provided that they do not contain any abrasives which would scratch the porcelain enamel finish.
Cooking grids on a grill can be scrubbed, however, the most practical method is to leave grease on the cooking grids until the next time you cook. During the heat up period, use a brass wire brush to clean the ash off the grids as heat increases. The heat sterilizes the cooking surfaces.
