Some time back in a Kanata bar some friends boasted about their steak cooking skills and how delicious steaks are cooked on their Big Green Egg BBQ. We lost touch and I never got to experience this first hand but was delighted to come across this episode of Food Country with chef Michael Smith using his famous Big Green Egg to cook the perfect ribeye steak with steakhouse butter. Of course being able to reach in excess of 750 degrees and using hardwood charcoal plays an important part but there’s nothing in the cooking technique that can’t be done by anyone with basic cooking skills.
