We are looking for a service-oriented individual to work as a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant and Inside Sales. This job offers flexibility, the opportunity to meet new people, and technical experience in a customer-led market.

The Fireplace Center & Patio Shop began in 1952 and has been serving the people of Ottawa and Eastern Ontario for more than 70 years! We place emphasis on our customer service and quality to enhance our customers’ lifestyles.

The role of Receptionist/Administrative Assistant would include, but not be limited to:

  • Phone coverage for West location lines
  • Email response to inquiries and information requests
  • Order & invoice processing in Evosus
  • Complete small sales, assist when all other sales staff are occupied
  • Open, stamp, & distribute mail
  • Responsible for opening and closing daily cash drawer
  • General secretarial duties (typing, filing, etc.) 
  • Other administrative duties as required

Role requirements are:

  • Previous customer service experience a plus
  • Hard-working team player
  • Great communication skills
  • Honest, personable, punctual, reliable, & presentable
  • Required Monday to Saturday 9am – 5pm, with 1 weekday off


This position is from our Carling Road store location in Ottawa. This is a 1-year term, maternity leave replacement, full time position with a competitive salary of $18 to $20/hour and additional commission on processed sales (based on experience and performance).
