It's the height of barbecue season! Don’t let your ribs, burgers and pork go flavourless onto your guest's plate - get some of the best BBQ sauce around to go with your awesome food. Here at The Fireplace Center and Patio Shop, we have researched some of the best BBQ sauces to suit a variety of meats and taste preferences. So read on and enjoy grilling!

1: Rufus Teague BBQ Sauces

This award-winning BBQ sauce is not only gluten-free and non-GMO, but it’s great for a wide variety of meats! Even better, the Rufus Teague variety pack comes with five different sauces to shake up your grilling experience. Go from their Whiskey Maple on your burger to their Smokey Apple on your pork chops, and enjoy whatever level of heat you like between Blazin Hot, Touch ‘o Heat, and Honey Sweet for those who can’t take the spice. No matter what you want in a BBQ sauce, Rufus Teague has you covered.

2: Stubbs Original Bar-B-Q Sauce

This sauce has stood the test of time. Stubbs brings some traditional Texas flavour to your pork and smoked ribs. This sauce is best for pork, although it’s versatility makes it a great match with anything you want to grill up. The original recipe dates back to 1968 and gets its sweetness from cane sugar, brown sugar and molasses, with no artificial sweeteners. It’s a tangy blend of tomatoes, vinegar and plenty of black pepper that will treat your meat right.

3: Montgomery Inn Barbecue Sauce

The Montgomery Inn restaurant in Ohio claims to have the best ribs in the world, but you don’t have to book a trip to get a taste. Their famous BBQ sauce is now available in bottles for you to add to your ribs at home. This thick, spicy sauce blends the classic BBQ flavours of tomatoes, sweet molasses and a perfected mix of spices. Despite Montgomery Inn’s claim to fame being their ribs, this sauce is great on everything. Add it to your wings, your pulled pork, or even to your baked beans to add an extra something special.

4: Bibigo Gochujang Hot & Sweet Korean-Style Sauce

If you are looking for something a little different, go for this Korean-style sauce which is perfect not only for Korean barbecue but for all of your grilled meat. You could even add it to your fries for an extra kick! This sauce is packed with flavours like ginger, apple, pear and red pepper. There’s no need to worry if you can’t handle too much heat, this sauce is extremely flavourful without the spice.

5: CaJohns Trinidad BBQ Sauce

If you prefer your barbecue with its heat turned up to max, or if you want to test the limits of your spice tolerance, this is the sauce for you. This sauce ranks in at 250,000 - 1,000,000 on the Scoville Heat scale (a habanero pepper ranks in at 100,000 - 350,000 for an idea of what you’re in for). This sauce will have you begging for a cool summer drink, but the flavour will have you braving the pain to eat more.

6: Sweet Baby Ray's Original Barbecue Sauce

Prefer your barbecue sauce on the sweet side? Sweet Baby Ray’s award-winning recipe will treat you right. Sweet and smokey with just a touch of tang and spice, this thick sauce will cling to your meat and infuse it with its awesome flavours like molasses, pineapple, garlic and tamarind. This is a sauce that will have you throwing away your ketchup and trying something new on your fries. It’s another recipe that has stood the test of time and will continue to please you and your guests.

No matter what your tastes are there’s a perfect sauce out there for you! We hope our list has inspired you to make your summer cookouts stand out in your guest's minds. Grab one of these sauces (if you can’t find them at your local store, they are available on Amazon) to make your meats shine, and make the most of the rest of the summer! Plus, if you are in need of a new bbq to cook on, The Fireplace Center and Patio Shop can get you set up with a brand new grill.
